Speicherstadt is Hamburgs answer of Venice’s canals. It’s less colorfull, nearly empty in winter, and consists of bricks. A lot of bricks. They are brown-redisch and…fascinating. I won’t provide much information about history, this is more a tribute in pictures. Have a look:
It’s the biggest storehouse ensemble of the world and now THE tourist spot in Hamburg. It’s not so old as you may guess. It was build between 1888 and 1927.
Wandering around in Speicherstadt, you feel like beamed up into another world, with strange vehicles and unleashing mind sceneries.
Proofs of everlasting love, or just a photo spot….still you will find your way to it wherever your path is.
In Speicherstadts Dungeon you will experience 90-mins journey exploring the dark sides of Hamburg. Yes, it’s also in english.
It’s the eye candy of Speicherstadt…the Wasserschloss. Take a pic and enjoy the view…it is not worth entering the restaurant.
